The Serrita Solar Complex in Pernambuco, Brazil needed an innovative solution. The undulating terrain and rocky soils at the site typically require extensive earthworks that drive up costs and slow down construction. In addition, the project had to meet the domestic content
requirements defined by Brazil’s FINAME program.

By partnering with Nextracker, EPC Elecnor overcame both challenges. Horizon XTR’s
adaptability to challenging terrain reduced the need for earthworks by an estimated 50%,
which resulted in cost-savings and less impact on the local ecosystem. Nextracker also worked
with local manufacturers to ensure that the project was completed with at least 50% domestic content.
