Driving Down Emissions With a Cleaner "First Mile"

Nextracker and its partners are proving that utility-scale solar projects can be delivered on time — while significantly cutting transportation emissions.

As large-scale solar development expands across the U.S., so do the emissions from manufacturing and logistics. To address this challenge, Nextracker has teamed up with Forum Mobility, Hight Logistics, Ryder, and rPlus Energies to redefine drayage — the critical "first mile" of freight transport.

This case study highlights an innovative zero-emissions shipping strategy in action, featuring the 400 MW Green River Energy Center in Utah. By integrating electric drayage trucks and smart local warehousing, Nextracker and its partners have already eliminated 37,000 kg of CO₂ across 12,584 zero-emissions miles — demonstrating a scalable and effective model.
